The Pelicans were established as the New Orleans Hornets in the 2022-2003 season when then-owner of the Charlotte Hornets relocated the franchise to New Orleans. Stars including Anthony Davis, Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram have  played for the Pelicans.
