Ben Gordon is a British-American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Connecticut, where he usually led the team in points and won the 2004 National Collegiate Championship. 

Gordon was the third selection overall in the 2004 NBA Draft, picked by the bulls. As of 2021, he is the only player to have ever won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award as a rookie. Besides that, he was named rookie of the month 3 times, and made the ALl-Rookie first team. On April 14, 2006, in a Bulls win over the Washington Wizards, Gordon tied the record for the most consecutive three-pointers made in a game with 9. The Bulls returned to the playoffs that year, but lost the eventual champions, the Miami Heat. Over the next years, Gordon and the bulls found relative success, usually making the playoffs. As of 2021, Gordon is second in career three-point field goals for the Chicago Bulls, behind Kirk Hinrich. Overall, Gordon played for 11 seasons in the NBA. 

In February 2020, Gordon revealed that he had been suffering from bipolar disorder for years, and detailed his battles with mental illness since retirement in an article about mental health for The Players' Tribune, including a suicide attempt. He has overcame much both professionally and mentally.
