The team was originally established as the Vancouver Grizzlies, an expansion team that joined the NBA for the 1995-1996 season. After the 2000-2001 season concluded, the Grizzlies moved to Memphis. Some fan favorites over the years include Ja Morant, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol.
